David Shrigley is best known for his cartoonish ink drawings which use bizarre and often crude subject matter matched with witty commentary. He works improvisationally, focusing on “trying to tell somebody something as directly as possible” rather than “trying to get their eyes in the right place,” as he states. This work is in direct line with Shrigley’s style with its mix of humor and mischief through the raccoon, an animal known for its own misbehavior, tied with Shrigley’s own personal commentary.
