Dean Fox's artwork conveys a beautiful exploration of classical art in a distinctly contemporary manner. With an aesthetic appreciation for minimalism and gestural abstraction, he deconstructs classical themes within his paintings. The gradations of tone and soft, muted palette of colour recall the tradition of grisaille painting in art history, which the artist has redefined in his spirit. The interplay between abstraction and objectivity is a central focus in the artist's practice, for he considers the harmony found among objective perception and freedom of expression are as central to art as life.
