Modern Masters in Print: Group Exhibition

22 May - 10 June 2018

Dellasposa Fine Art is pleased to announce the exhibition Modern Masters in Print, presenting works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Alberto Giacometti, Sonia Delaunay, Joan Miró, Fernand Léger, Salvador Dalí, Jean Cocteau, and Victor Vasarely.

This exhibition, which will take place at 35-37 Church St., London, explores the alliance of artists from the School of Paris who used the full artistic potential of the print medium.

At the turn of the 20th. Century, Paris represented a nucleus for artists from all over the world. It became the nexus for international avant-garde art, notably fauvism, cubism, abstract art, and surrealism. Paris also had the gravitational pull for master printers with some of the most remarkable ateliers flourishing in the city, from Lacourière to Mourlot and Vollard. This atmosphere fostered a sense of creative collaboration, without which the likes of Picasso and the avant-garde artists would not have been able to demonstrate their innovative forms of expression. The outcome was a bounty of artistic riches that have forever changed modern art.

Throughout their lives, these artists demonstrated an extraordinary proclivity toward experimentation, while printmaking - through the medium's inherent power of dissemination - allowed the artists the revolutionary capacity to redefine our relationship to art in the modern era.

With works spanning more than six decades, this exhibition represents the breadth of the Modern Masters considerable achievement, having produced works in a range of printing techniques including etchings, lithographs, linocuts.

Dellasposa Fine Art is privileged to present a collection of original limited editions, unique works on paper, and sculptures to our collectors in this exhibition. This truly is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire original prints that still hold the creative enchanting and originality of the artist's own hand.
